if you're gonna comment than comment GOOD things. dont critize the singers. i bet if you were on the show you would have some weakness aswell and you wouldnt feel good about people saying bad things about you right? if i were you i would keep my comment to my own self and not post my negative thoughts to the whole world because that put singers down. if you got talent then let me see you come up and sing buddy.

Emden, I agree with you that people should listen carefully to the performances before voting, as singing technique should be the most important factor.  Your opinions are good and I agree with a lot of what you wrote.  Here is my advice to the singers on things they could improve on:

1) Lâm Trần Mai, has a strong baritone voice, good use of inflection and vibrato(ngan).  His high notes are good, but he needs to work on his low notes, as sometimes they come out a bit flat (like in "dong xanh").  I listened to him speak on stage and I think he could speak Vietnamese just fine, but he tends to sing mostly English songs.  On the radio I heard that he promises to sing a true Vietnamese song next time, if he could sing in Vietnamese as good as he sings in English then he's a strong contender for the finals.

2)  Cao Xuân Uy Vũ, another strong baritone voice, I think he is a finals contender but he definitely needs to work on pronunciation, all I heard from his song this week is "SSsssss" sounds and "sexy nhau????"  How will people feel the song you are portraying if they can't understand you? You are a good singer and should improve on your pronunciation.

3)  Vân Trần, great use of inflection in her singing, makes her stand out among the contestants.  She needs to improve on her low notes as they sound forced and she is at her limit.  By the way, did she drop out or get eliminated??? where is her video? Her name is on the roster but I can't vote for her if I don't know how she sang this week!

4)  Lưu Đại Dương, this gentleman has an advantage in experience singing because hes a singer from way back, hes won contests before and went to Asia but he got dropped in the end for another singer (at least, this is the popular belief).  He's got the technique down but sometimes hes way too dramatic and the way he presents himself is sort of..... feminine.......and that deters me.  Also Lưu Đại Dương, if you let free your voice more instead of trying too hard to hold your voice to what you want, you would sound much better.  Sometimes when I listen to your performance I feel like you are forcing the feeling in the song.

5)  Noel Truong, good singer and on the money in your rhytm and word rhytm, but please becareful in your song choices.  I thought this week's song was not right at all for your voice, otherwise I think you are a contender for the finals.

6)  Ngô Ngọc Thảo Quyên, good singer but sometimes it feels like your songs are missing emotion.  Put more "tam hon" into it when you sing, you need to portray to the audience the feeling of the songs.  Plus if you could improve on using facial expressions when singing then it will bring the audience more into your performance.

7)  Leyna Mỹ Phương, you need to work on matching notes, as you miss many pitches; if you record yourself singing and listen/correct where your are wrong, then you would improve a lot.  Also you need to work on your volume, sometimes your singing is weak and does not stand out amongst the crowd.

8)  Victoria dances quite well, but....if I close my eyes and judge her voice as of now then...she does not stand up to the others in the contest.  Victoria you need to pay close attention to your rhytm when singing, many times you are off the beat; also you need to improve on your word rhytm and have some vibrato (ngan).  If you could improve on these things then you've got the whole package (presentation, looks, and singing technique)

9)  Kim Ngan, I like her but she tends to pick songs that are safe for her, maybe she could pick one that will really show off her voice; or else in the future she will be drowned out in a sea of other singers.  Kim Ngan has a good sound overall.

These are things that the contestants could improve on, I don't mean any ill-will.  I wish all the contestants luck in the next round and beyond.  Make DFW proud and represent us to the world! =)

I have been voting for you from the first round, but honestly I think your time is up girl. It wasn't good like it was before. You got the right song choice, but i don't agree with other fans that you could hit that high note. Your a cute girl and all, but this is a singing competition and it's about that time. My votes for the other contestants this week. Sorry =(

I suddenly discovered Noel Truong’s talent at the second contest GCV, I loved her singings since then, but I was too shy to write. The comment of EMDEN posted on 5/5/08 encourages me to speak. I copy here the posted judgement of EMDEN to support my feelings.: Noel - awesome singers....hit all the right notes and rythm is almost perfect...yes there were time where she was out of control too, but give or take......should be a strong one coming into the final.....I love people who can hit all the high and right notes....doesn't have to be perfect, but got to be closed...     Noel Truong high pitch is a pointed sword to penetrate into our heart. Her voice is a loving and soothing voice that can relax the broken soul. I thank EMDEM to open my mouth. Noel, accept my congratulations. You have my votes since R2.

Guys....please listen carefully to each of the contestant before voting because I believe it shold be in fairness and honest for all contestants.  So, below are some of mine:

Huy Vu - Sang well all around for most rounds, but can't "prononouce the words" right.  Most of the songs he couldn't get it right the word.  Listen carefully to the song "Chuyen Thuong Tinh The Thoi"....things like.....Dung "Sa'ch xi` nhau em oi"????????? Doens't make sense to me.....the words have to come out right for a singer and that's the most important for a song....

Kim Ngan - Sang well, but no "sweetness" in the song and too much "ngan"....I know the judges made comments about that, but she is just too much.....there're parts that need not need to and she still going and going.....

Victoria - Beautiful, fun, but I don't think she could go on far.  Come on guys!!!!!!!!! Ya'll know what I mean.  I think she'll win the "Miss VNese" contest and I'll vote for her, but she is just all over the places with the song and the rythm is off all the time...."sweet voice though"

Thao Nguyen - sings very well, high notes....some places where it is not there yet, but with more practice she should be OK.....

Leyna My Phuong - guys......listen  and listen and then put in the CD and listen to the singer of that "exact" song....then tell me which notes was the right Notes....she got a very sweet voice, but with that many "Off Key" notes.....I'm sorry I just can't stand that...it's very bugging.....Off Key every where, even Mr. Keyboard tried to tell her, she's still out of tunes.....sorry....can't go far on my vote.....

Lam Mai - sings well with all his English songs, but the VNese one is not very good....I can't comment too much on that maybe he doesn't speak VNese that well....though he's also a strong performer going into the final I think...

Dai Duong - Didn't he sing last week or the week before at a club for a band.....considering he is singing in a band or is a local singer.....it's not very fair to compete in this competition, but anyhow good singer and strong voice, but too much.....the song is not that tramatic and he's just trying too much on the song sometimes make it too boring for us....Notice: Strong Voice, but No Love in the song makes it not very good singer.  The song needs to have what they call "soul" in it and he got none........

The reason they remove the judge’s comment is for you to have your own. For you to make up your own opinion, to vote for who is the best. By the way, the Judge’s comments do not count so what is the point. Do you really want to hear the judge’s comments?

I happened to notice that there were NO Judges' comments attached to each of the clip.  Am I missing something?  why were they omitted?  Are Judges' comments no longer important in this competition?  I waited and waited and finally all 4 Judges were back on the show and now none of their comments are available for us viewers.  I heard the comments on the radio but could not remember all of them.  I was hoping to recap them from the website.  I believe that each and every Judges' comments are important to each and every contestants and viewers.  That was the point of having the contestants to perform in front of the Judges right?  so why remove them?  I agree that when the clips are aired on SBTN  some part of the clips such as "Judges comments" were omitted due to air time but how much space does it take up from the internet?  I request and recommend that those comments be part of each clip.

 You're really talented. You belong on both Paris By Night and Asia. There sure are a lot of wannabe singers on this show, but you actually have the talent to go somewhere with that voice. While some of your other competitors song choices are poor, you step up your game with some of the most diverse choices in music that I've seen on the show. You take risks and you definitely show a lot of personality. You're the only one on the show with any kind of fashion sense. It's amazing what some people would dare wear on this show and have the nerves to show their faces on camera.  Keep it up girl, You have it all. From the looks to the talent, you will go very far no matter what happens. Don't let all these posers get to you, they don't even have the talent to do half the things you do. It's easy being an internet warrior, but when you have to show your face in front of a crowd and do your thing, it takes courage. You have my support and no one can take that away from you.

I just want to commend all of the remaining contenstants for hanging in there, and doing such a great job.

From what I understand, the process has been more arduous than you initially expected.

I am so impressed by all of you.  I know I certainly couldn't do what you do, to be able to

prepare a performance every week, all the while going to school, or working, and after all of that,

to have people critisize you as if they even understand what actually goes into it...don't let

them bring you down.  It's been so entertaining to be able to hear you every week.  Thank you!!!
